Abrasive white aluminum oxide is a white abrasive made from industrial alumina powder (Al2O3) with a content of over 98% and a small amount of iron oxide and silicon oxide. It is a white abrasive which is melted at high temperature. Its hardness is slightly higher than that of brown corundum and its toughness is slightly lower. It is made by smelting and cooling above 2000 degrees in arc, grinding and shaping, removing iron by magnetic separation, and sieving into many kinds of granularity. It is compact in texture, high in hardness and sharp in shape.

White corundum was made from the high quality alumina by melting above 2000 in the electric arc furnace and cooling.After two crushing and shaping by the grinder, the iron is magnetically selected and finally sieved into different models of grains. The main chemical component of white corundum grains is AL2O3, which is white opaque and has a high Mohs hardness. The white corundum grains has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, strong grinding ability and stable thermal performance. It is suitable for surface beautification of glass and metal, and can also be used as raw material for sandblasting and rust removal.

Brown fused aluminum oxide is both a hard (Mohs hardness 9) and tough material with high strength, making it an excellent abrasive grain raw material for applications such as blast media, sandpaper, grinding wheels and abrasive discs, rolls, belts and pads. Its thermal properties make it an excellent raw material for refractory applications, as well.
